Dangers of Chlorine in Drinking Water

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

We all know that treatment plants use chlorine to disinfect drinking water. Chlorine is one of the drugs found in the tap-water we drink and is a strong chemical that can kill microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. This knowledge has made us all breathe a sigh of relief because we are at least sure that the tap water we drink daily are reasonably safe to use. However, we should not be too complacent about the presence of chlorine in drinking water. Here’s why.Chlorine in drinking water mingles and combines with other organic compounds to form Trihalomethane, which is a toxin. If you drink chlorinated-water, you are at risk of developing disorders such as asthma. Bathing with chlorinated-water is also unsafe because the chlorine might get inhaled as steam when you use a water heater.

Some people might shrug these off and say that there is too little chlorine in a glass of drinking water to cause such effects, but remember that an average person drinks water at least five times a day. Moreover, we cook, bathe and wash with this water multiple times a day. Simply put, we are more exposed to chlorinated-water than we think, so we should do something about it.The answer to this is simple. Get a filter system that can dechlorinate the water that comes out of your faucet before you even touch it. Moreover, get one that can be installed anywhere inside your home for easy filtration.Once you get all the chlorine out, you can really breathe easy knowing that you’re not risking your family’s health on a daily basis.

Toxic Mattresses

A key question mattress toxicity revolves around the volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They are incredibly simple, but for regulatory purposes, the term is generally applied to compounds that evaporate under normal conditions the air entering and potentially damaging to human health. Unbeknownst to consumers, many everyday objects produce volatile organic compounds. Studies have shown that long-lasting exposure to some volatile organic compounds increases the relative risk of some cancers. In the short-term, VOCs can irritate the eyes and airways, which’re, especially those irritating respiratory problems as asthma, as well as those with more chemical sensitivity. Both Labor Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection VOC reference to respiratory irritation, along with several other health problems. As more Americans seek to limit their exposure to chemicals, may overlook a particularly important source of these VOCs: the mattress.Modern mattresses are usually made of metal springs embedded between the polyurethane foam, foam, or simply alone. What most people don’t realize that the polyurethane foam is made from oil, which off-gases - evaporates under normal temperatures for a long time, constantly releasing chemicals into the air. Memory foam, which has become very popular in recent years, is a type of high-density polyurethane foam, but is made from oil. Mattresses made of foam may emit a very volatile organic compounds, people are trying to eliminate in other areas of their lives. And since so much one’s spend their lives sleeping, it’s not a negligible problem. While polyurethane foam, the Association may take the foam is safe for the consumer mattress to the other researchers note that eventually end up in landfills, which pose environmental, as well.

After suffering from low back pain most of his life and doctors constantly told that there was’to it would be done, than about minimizing my movements and laying on the heating pad, I decided to look at yourself.

I found that the doctors gave me wrong advice. First, the heating pad, only worse cause inflammation, which was in the lower back to start. Second minimize my movements to help keep the pain worse, but did nothing to relieve it.When low back pain for the first time felt an ice pack for twenty minutes every two hours or so, helps ease the pain more than heat. You can also use proper stretching exercises help to regroup discs and vertebrae in the lower spine, which, if the compensation pinches the sciatic nerve causing inflammation and thereby causing severe lower back.Sciatic nerve is a nerve that starts in the very bottom of the spinal cord and flows down to the buttocks, fingers, and when pushed or injury can cause severe pain starts in the lower back and runs down the butt and thighs and sometimes it can run all the way to the toes .There are many ways to the sciatic nerve can be damaged, but no matter how it happens that damaged, always causes damage to the nerves to get inflamed.
